Role Objective:



  • Responsible for all aspects of the product management of the assigned products of Rare Metabolic Diseases in Switzerland

  • Optimizes product results by developing and executing marketing strategies which are consistent with European strategies

  • Develops brand plans for Rare Metabolic Diseases products of Takeda in collaboration with commercial and medical teams and drives effective execution including implementation of owned field-projects


Accountabilities:


Business Strategy and Management



  • Responsible for the development of all promotional material for the territory (booth, brochures, print material, PR handouts etc.), in conjunction with Medical Affairs and in collaboration with the sales team and other internal stakeholders.

  • Leads the business development process; coaches and monitors internal and external progress; leads external suppliers; drives the integrated life cycle plan

  • In conjunction with Medical Affairs, develop and execute a publication plan to support key marketing strategies.

  • Analyse the market on a regular basis and initiates appropriate market research to identify business opportunities

  • Provide marketing support for Rare Metabolic Diseases national and regional symposia, work-shops, satellite symposia and other meetings

  • Spend significant time with our customers and other stakeholders, gain detailed insights and knowledge of the disease area, and establish personal relations with key customers and business stakeholders

  • Own and execute assigned projects from the Leadership Team and innovate new ideas and implement these projects in Switzerland

  • Collaborate with Global and Region colleagues to ensure country needs and knowledge are shared

  • Manage national marketing budgets and costs for assigned products

  • Directing generation and analysis of data to seek out opportunities to support recommendations for strategic direction based on demand and market dynamics

  • Develops effective and constructive working relationships throughout the Business Unit and Takeda LOC in general and with the EUCAN Brand Team, Takeda Market Access department and Takeda Medical Department in particular


Effective Team and Cross Functional Working internally and externally



  • Identifies and raises relevant issues, and proposing potential solutions, through the appropriate internal and external channels;

  • Develops and maintains a strong understanding of the local rare disease market and closely monitors environmental changes and competitor activities in order to be able to fine tune planned tactics


Financial Management



  • Actively analyses in-market performance and identifies key metrics to assess the performance versus plan at the market, segment, and customer levels, taking into account key drivers of customer behavior

  • Leads and takes ownership for key financial tasks for the brand including the development of annual budgets, brand plan, sales forecasts, quarterly updates, etc. including effective budget control and resource management within predefined project budgets;

Communication



  • Develops and maintains strong, effective and constructive relationships with key external stake-holders e.g. agency, specialists and their associations, advisory groups, KOL networks) by taking a leadership role in the communication and liaison between all pertinent external customers;

  • Achieving best-in-class customer focus with significant dedicated time for regular interactions with customers

  • Ensuring effective communication with all relevant internal and external key stakeholders

  • Implementation of multi-channel innovative communication approaches to customers


Risk Management and Controls



  • Supports the Rare Metabolic Disease BU Head in managing the company’s risk profile including, (where appropriate), Code of Conduct and the Health and Safety performance of the business;

  • Assists the Rare Metabolic Disease BU Head in ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place;

  • Utilizes new market research approaches with business partners to assess business risks and opportunities. Proactively identifying brand opportunities and issues that require analysis of Business Information to create new approaches or new market opportunities


Education & Experience Requirements:



  • Relative University degree in Life Science or Pharmacy

  • At least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical / biotech industry in a similar position, preferably in Rare Disease or at least in specialty care

  • In depth knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and codices for pharmaceutical industry

  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical, pharmacoeconomic/-political landscape in Switzerland

  • Computer literacy including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, project management and E-mail and presentation software

  • Fluent German and English both written and oral is mandatory; French is a plus

  • Influences the functional strategy by defining, building, and communicating processes, relation-ships, and efficiencies in areas of accountability.

  • Understands the decision making units and an ability to manage complex networks

  • Understands the Rare Disease environment and business model where the brand/s operate including working with a KAM model

  • Business acumen and ability to understand and actively contribute to the management of a P&L

  • Proven track record of understanding customers’ needs and be able to translate their needs into highly impactful tactics and solutions

  • Analytical, converts information into insights; monitoring market trends, uncovering unmet needs, identifying risks, barriers and opportunities at national level

  • Willingness to spend high amount of time with customers

  • Outside thinking rather inside focus; advocating patient and HCP perspective into the organization

  • Innovative, develops new ways of working and uses these to differentiate from competition
