The AO Foundation is a medically guided, not-for-profit organization led by an international group of surgeons specialized in the treatment of trauma and disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Founded in 1958 by a group of visionary surgeons, today, the AO has a global network of 200,000 health care professionals. Each year it offers over 830 educational events around the world, which are supported by nearly 9,000 faculty and are attended by over 58,000 participants. It has 20,000 surgeon members working in the fields of trauma, spine, craniomaxillofacial (CMF), veterinary, and reconstructive surgery.


AORecon is a clinical unit of the AO Foundation focusing on the field of joint preservation and replacement. Since its foundation in 2014, global key opinion leaders have been driving AORecon's success. The unit is continuously expanding the reach and importance of its activities.


We are looking for a highly motivated person for our office in Davos for the position of:


Project Manager Education AORecon


In this function, you engage proactively and effectively to enable further growth of AORecon by having full responsibility of several AORecon educational events globally, and by leading and realizing strategically important projects in close collaboration with AORecon management.


Key responsibilities:



  • Event management: Take full responsibility of planning and organizing educational events together with key opinion leaders and internal and external support. This includes such responsibilities as management of faculty, event budget and on-site activities.

  • Project management: Develop, define, and drive concrete projects which add value to AORecon and help the unit to further improve patient care.


To meet the job requirements, you have as a minimum a bachelor's degree and more than three years of professional experience. Having an entrepreneurial mindset, you work accurately and effectively to the given deadlines. The job demands strong organizational skills, a service-oriented mindset with a sense of hospitality, a solution-oriented attitude, attention to detail and the ability to work in a global, multi-cultural environment. You have an excellent command of written and spoken English. Other languages are an advantage. Due to the nature of the job, you have the flexibility to travel internationally and frequently.
