Cargo Contribution Optimization (m/f/diverse)

The Cargo Contribution Management department is responsible for the contribution and capacity optimization of all intercontinental and European flights as well as for the road feeder network out of the hub Zurich. The Cargo Contribution Optimizer ensures the contribution maximization over the flights/trucks under his/her control. He/She decides on booking requests based on defined acceptance philosophy and prepares the flight/truck disposition for the handling agent. In addition the Cargo Contribution Optimizer is responsible for the assurance of flown as booked levels in line with company standards.


Your duties



  • Maximize the contribution of flights and trucks

  • Accept, reject booking requests or offer alternative capacity in timely manner, based on defined acceptance criteria and decision aid tools considering demand, market and capacity situation

  • Continually monitor the status of all flights within booking range and re-evaluate opportunities

  • Provide clear communication in booking records and follow alternative offer process when refusing a request

  • Issue flight/truck disposition with loading instructions and all relevant data to ensure maximum route contribution and capacity utilization

  • Take proactive action when operational constraints are expected for the flights/trucks in charge (e.g. weather influence, aircraft change, strikes, etc.)

  • Optimize trucking network by ordering, combining, cancelling trucks and adhering to guidelines in order to reduce costs when covering trucking duties


Your profile



  • Business degree (KV/Luftverkehrslehre) or higher level education

  • Strong analytical and numerical problem solving skills

  • Team player with a professional attitude towards customers, colleagues and supervisors

  • Strong communication skills

  • Pro-active and initiative

  • Stress resistant and reliable

  • Take responsibility for decisions

  • Flexibility to work on different functions within the department

  • Willing to work shifts

  • Fluent in English, written and oral; basic German is an advantage
