Finance & HR Manager

Our client is a dynamic biotechnology start-up. We are currently looking for an experienced Finance & HR Manager. The successful candidate will manage Finance and HR operations in collaboration with an external Business Services partner.




Key responsabilities:



Finance:

  • R&D Finance Business partner

  • Deliver regular and ad-hoc actionable insight to stakeholders supporting overall management & decision-making

  • Collaborate with 3rd party provider on Finance (Accounting, Monthly Closings & Financial Reporting and Statements)

  • Coordinate and manage the budget & forecast process

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable process

  • Cash and bank management

  • Maintain all tax return and declarations

  • Alliance Management / coordination

  • Liaise with external auditors regarding audit program

  • Assist other departments in managing queries regarding regulations and customers

HR: 

  • R&D HR Business partner

  • Responsible for the day-to-day HR Operation

  • Drive HR topics and provide support across all areas of the HR spectrum including talent review/succession planning, performance management, promotion and compensation processes, as well as recruitment

  • Collaborate with 3rd party provider on HR matters (Payroll and HR Administration, Recruitment, etc.)

  • Acting as a liaison between employees and employer (HR contact for all employees)


Skills and competencies:

  • Degree in Finance or HR with proven experience working in both functions, preferably within a life sciences or multi-national company

  • Proven track record of 6-8 years in FP&A / controlling functions (ideally R&D Finance)

  • Proven strong foundation and knowledge of principles & practices of HR in Switzerland

  • Excellent relationship, negotiation and communication skills with stakeholders across all levels of the organization

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to partner and collaborate with business and external partners

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Resilient, proactive, persuasive and determined in an agile, cross-functional environment

  • Personal integrity, initiative, leadership qualities and the ability to work as part of a team in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy

  • Strong analytical capabilities and ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues

  • Ability to set high personal goals and work independently

  • Experienced in working in a diverse and multi-cultural / multi-national environment

  • Fluency in English is required, knowledge of French and German would be a plus
