Schmid & Partner Engineering AG is the worldwide leader in the area of electromagnetic near-field measurements, mobile phone compliance evaluation and technical software tools for the global mobile communications, medical and related industries. To enhance and strengthen our Computational Electromagnetics development team, we are looking for dynamic, motivated and experienced engineer to enhance and strengthen our hardware team and to support the development of novel product lines.


 


Application Engineer (Radiofrequency and Electromagnetic Field Measurement Tools)


 


The application engineer position involves close cooperation with product managers, R&D, and sales teams to participate in the development and technical support of advanced measurement systems.


 


Your challenges:



  • Assist with customer-specific application engineering projects and multidisciplinary tasks

  • Help bring breakthrough technologies to market by:

    • Testing hardware / software prototypes

    • Providing constructive feedback from users to the R&D


  • Provide customer support by:

    • Answering customer questions via e-mail / phone

    • Performing on-site installations of and technical training on advanced measurement systems


  • Write technical documentation

  • Collaborate with industrial and academic world leaders in cutting-edge communications, electromagnetic, and medical technologies

  • Support product managers and our sales organization


Your strengths:



  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics (bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree or higher preferred)

  • Expertise, ideally scientific and industrial, in one or more of the following fields:

    • Active radiofrequency/microwave circuit and system design, test equipment

    • Electromagnetic theory and measurement technologies

    • EMC/EMI analysis

    • SAR, antenna measurements

    • Communication systems


  • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in high-tech product development or 5 years in application engineering

  • Fascination for and good understanding of physics and engineering problems of all kinds

  • Good programming and numerical analysis skills

  • Dedication to professional, constructive, and cheerful customer service

  • Commitment to the highest quality materials and workmanship

  • Self-motivation for well-structured and creative teamwork

  • Excellent English and, preferably, German skills

  • Outstanding technical writing and presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while handling several tasks.
