In the group of molecular nanotechnology of the HLS, we are developing molecular recognition systems and (nano)biocatalysts applying core concepts of supramolecular chemistry.
We are looking for a qualified synthetic chemist to support our activities in supramolecular (polymer) chemistry.
You will be involved in several research projects where you can apply your skills in synthetic chemistry to produce a range of supramolecular systems capable of specific molecular recognition. This includes the synthesis of calixarene macrocycles, cyclodextrin-based polymers and the design of specific enzyme inhibitors. Besides a thorough characterization of the systems produced using state-of-the-art analytical methods, you will also be in charge of the assessment of the molecular recognition potential of the molecules/materials produced using methods such as LC-MS and NMR.
Ihr Profil:
We look for a highly motivated scientist (PhD in organic synthetic chemistry or related discipline) with a sound knowledge of molecular recognition and supramolecular interactions, who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
Excellent communications skills in English are mandatory; German is a plus.
