CUTISS AG is a biotech company spin-off of the University of Zurich (UZH), focuses on the development of personalized bioengineered skin graft products for the treatment of skin defects. Its lead product denovoSkin™ has successfully completed Phase I in pediatric patients. Clinical Phase II studies are underway in Europe and Switzerland. CUTISS AG aims at designing an intelligent, automated platform to optimize the manufacturing of its bioengineered skin product. CUTISS AG is a start-up project currently incubated at Wyss Zurich. We offer a position for a highly dedicated Process Developer Assistant, who can support the development of next-generation skin grafts. The job candidate will support the R&D Department with in lab management duties and the optimization of cell isolation, expansion and cell characterization methods required to produce bioengineered skin graft products.


You will perform general laboratory duties such as basic maintenance of equipment, preparing media reagents and stock management activities. Under supervision, you will implement and perform high-quality mammalian cell culture experiments. Furthermore, you will assist in the execution of cell and tissue characterization methods such as Flow Cytometry and Histology. Assisting in the development and improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) will belong to your tasks as well as assisting in documenting research results and data analysis. You will efficiently report to the Senior Lab Manager.
You are excited to work in a start-up environment and enjoy thinking outside of the box. You hold a BSc or MSc in a biological field (e.g. cell / molecular biology, tissue engineering, biotechnology or biomedicine) or a comparable education with a minimum of 2 years of practical experience in academia or industry. Primary human cell culture experience is a plus. You are a communicative, highly organized and team-oriented person with a great sense of quality, responsibility and an independent working method. Good MS-Office knowledge is required; whereas computing skills such as Image J, FlowJo or MatLab are a plus. You are fluent in English and German, both oral and written. The successful candidate is required to demonstrate flexibility as our laboratory environment may require working evenings and especially weekends.CUTISS AG as a young and dynamic start-up company offers flexible working hours in arrangement with the experimental schedule. You will gain experience in implementing research results from R&D to manufacturing and clinics (GMP). Furthermore, we offer five weeks holidays.
