The Operational Efficiency & Analytics team is part of the Flight Operations Engineering and responsible for the operational total cost optimization within Flight Operations. In this role, Operational Efficiency & Analytics proposes, recommends and assesses operational efficiency measures based on quantitative data analytics. During your 6-month internship, you will support the team in the development of future efficiency measures as well as the optimization and further development of associated analysis methods.

Your Duties

• Development, optimization and verification of suitable statistical models for simulation and prediction of flight operations


• Analysis of (flight) data and further development of associated analytical methods


• Conception and evaluation of operationally relevant processes for possible fuel/cost savings in interdisciplinary teams


• Data visualization using Tableau, R or Python


• Presentation of elaborated results to stakeholders


• Support of the Operational Efficiency & Analytics team in their routine tasks (e.g dashboard creation & maintenance, monitoring, communication)

Your profile

• Finished Bachelor degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science or natural sciences


• Profound knowledge of MS Office applications, experience in programming (e.g. R or Python) and data visualization


• Strong analytical skills


• Independent, creative and proactive personality


• A high willingness to learn, openness to new ideas and a high interest in complex issues


• Systematic and structured work approach


• Good knowledge of German and English (written and spoken)


• Advanced user knowledge in R programming and Tableau software as well as sound knowledge in the fields of statistics/data science would be an advantage

CHF 2'500.- per month with Bachelor diploma
CHF 3'000.- per month with Master diploma
