The Institute of Molecular and Clinical Ophthalmology Basel (IOB) is seeking a highly motivat-ed Student Assistant or an Intern.


IOB is a research institute combining basic and clinical research. Its mission is to drive innova-tions in understanding vision and its diseases and develop new therapies for vision loss. It is a place where your expertise will be valued, your abilities challenged and your knowledge expanded.


Your position


  • Supporting scientific operations

  • Helping to set up different functions at the new headquarter

  • Compiling and preparing reports, presentations and correspondence

  • Managing occasional projects

  • Participation in the preparatory work for the move to a new laboratory building (furniture and equipment inventory, room allocations, etc.)

  • Your profile


  • Ongoing or finished BSc level education, or similar degree

  • Experience in natural science (biology and chemistry) or engineering is a plus (it helps the applicant to understand the basic operations)

  • Team player, detail oriented and problem solving skills are necessary

  • Experience in supporting management positions is a plus

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, both in English and German

  • Excellent Microsoft Office and internet skills
