In this role you support the Liquid Assets & Strategy team in the oversight of the investment portfolios including monitoring of asset managers, implementation of the investment strategy as well as liquidity management for various Zurich balance sheets based in Switzerland.
As a Junior Investment Manager your main responsibilities will involve:
Implementing the local strategic asset allocation (SAA) and tactical asset allocation (TAA) positioning
Monitoring portfolios and external asset managers
Monitoring the Swiss business units’ foreign currency risk and determining the FX strategy for the Swiss business units
Managing investment related liquidity flows, in line with the business units liquidity needs, via optimization between available facilities (e.g. repo)
Establishing guidelines/IMAs and derivative programs and ensuring compliance with group governance standards (Zurich Risk Policy)
Ensuring all regulatory requirements in relation to the tied asset pools and coverage are met at all times
Coordinating BU’s quarterly investment committee meetings (e.g. BU Switzerland) and preparation of Internal Control Documentation to support the development of investment recommendations
As a Junior Investment Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Master's degree in finance, economics, BA or similar
CFA designation or similar is required
Up to 5 years work experience in banking, insurance or asset management
Good understanding and knowledge of financial products, capital markets & investment structures coupled with a strong interest in developments in the capital markets
Basic knowledge of the requirements and mechanics of insurance companies and industry, asset liability management and accounting principles
Strong analytical skills and operational excellence
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with Bloomberg is an advantage
Very good German (C1-C2) and English (C1-C2) language skills are essential
Work location is Zürich, Oerlikon. The travel requirement is up to 10%.
