Senior Financial Risk Specialist (Credit risk) 80-100%

In this role you will support the Group’s risk management and oversight activities of the risk function at Corporate Center. Your focus will be on Credit-related lines of businesses, such as surety, credit and trade credit insurance as well as collateral, private debt and mortgages. As part of the Financial Risk Governance team you work closely with Commercial Insurance, Group and local treasury departments, local businesses and Group Investment Management. You partner with key stakeholders in these teams and provide independent oversight on Credit Risk taking in line with Group Risk Management’s mandate.

 

You provide inputs to Group’s Credit and Country Risk reports, support the setting of Credit Risk policies, risk limits, support the review of Group’s strategy for Credit-related lines of businesses and support Group Risk Management with Credit and Country Risk expertise. Your strong Credit Risk background allows you to independently analyze, identify risks and to provide meaningful risk insights or recommendations. In this role you will also support the risk review and monitoring of our credit exposures, support the team in credit risk management, credit risk analysis and Country risk management. We will count on you to interact with many key teams, senior management and supervisory authorities. You will work actively with highly qualified and motivated people in a diverse team.

As a Senior Financial Risk Specialist your main responsibilities will involve:



  • Partnering with key people in Commercial Insurance, Group Investment Management

  • Group and local treasury, business units and Risk Management

  • Overseeing Credit risk taking and adherence to Credit risk framework

  • Assess Country risk and run Group’s Country Risk Management Framework

  • Preparing Group Risk Management contributions for Credit and Country Risk reporting

  • Preparing Credit Risk reviews and providing risk insights (e.g. Credit risk and exposure developments, Credit-related lines of business strategy, Country risk assessments, investment strategy or proposed new asset classes and credit products)

  • Defining exposure methodology and support setting of credit parameters (PD/LGD)

  • Supporting the team with credit risk expertise and credit risk management activities


 
Your Skills and Experience
 

As a Senior Financial Risk Specialist your skills and qualifications will ideally include: 



  • Master’s degree in economics, mathematics, engineering, finance or related field


  • 10 years’ relevant experience in risk, investment, actuarial, underwriting or related area


  • Strong Credit Risk background including credit analysis and legal aspects of credit risk  


  • Good understanding and experience in surety, trade credit and credit insurance  


  • Very strong knowledge of credit risk exposure and counterparty risk assessment


  • Good knowledge of software applications such as R, MatLab, Phyton, VBA or similar


  • CFA, FRM or similar qualifications are an advantage


  • Pronounced analytical skills


  • Excellent communication skills


  • Proficient in English (written and spoken)
