About the role



  • You are a leader who energizes and inspires an experienced team with dynamic strengths.

  • You have experience in guiding the development of an annual risk evaluation and for the successful delivery of the active Audit Plan.

  • You establish important business contacts with senior leaders. Lead audit scheduling, the team's travel budget, and successful fulfillment of audit engagements.

  • You can lead global and complex audits with an experienced audit team utilizing your terrific communication skills and technical knowledge.

  • You direct and set the scope of audits by performing in-depth analysis of risks, internal controls and processes in accordance with GIA methodology and professional guidelines.

  • You guarantee audits conducted by your team including the identification of key risks and the evaluation of internal controls for their adequacy, effectiveness and compliance. You engage in actively supporting and mentoring your InCharge auditors to ensure successful Closing Meetings, Discussion of management actions, and overall drafting of the Audit Report.

  • You actively lead the day-to-day workload and monitor to take actions when re-allocation of work is required.


 


About the team


Group Internal Audit (GIA) plays a critical role in the governance of Swiss Re, providing independent assurance over key risks and controls to the Group's Board and executive management on a global basis. Working in the Department provides a unique opportunity to develop a wide understanding of key issues in Swiss Re, develop key contacts and visibility with senior management globally and provide commercial recommendations to improve Swiss Re's processes. GIA can provide a stepping stone into Swiss Re's global business and corporate functions, with a long-established track record of placing staff into key business roles.


 


About You


Education and experience:



  • University degree (preferred)

  • Minimum of 8 years work experience in audit, risk management assurance function, or in a professional capacity in the insurance or reinsurance area

  • Professional audit certification or equivalent (preferred) or proficient technical insurance experience and skills

  • Strong and shown Data Analytical Skills

  • Ability to make timely decisions regarding complex problems/issues requiring immediate attention

  • Sees the "big picture" (e.g., overall risk themes, trends)

  • Takes action to reduce unnecessary audit steps and handle travel costs

  • Tracks performance against customer requirements, using given tools, seeks feedback from customers to identify improvement opportunities

  • Establishes realistic plans and work schedules and maintains a consistent high level of productivity

  • Provides honest, helpful feedback to team members and other on their performance

  • Being able to make recommendations in the fact of complexness, contradictory pressures and ambiguous circumstances

  • Keeps up with what is going on in the broader Swiss Re organization and understands the strategy and values

  • Coordinates planning efforts with other GIA teams across all Swiss Re regions

  • Build meaningful relationships in the business to craft a foundation for future influence

  • Strong verbal communicator, able to express oneself effectively in one-on-one conversations and small groups

  • Stature and confidence to interact with all levels of company personnel with the ability to demonstrate objectivity, integrity, independence and drive

  • Strong written communication skills to effectively draft quality audit reports

  • Good level of English written and verbal skills
