Your mission :
The College of Management of Technology (CDM) is the School of EPFL in charge of developing and offering education and research programs in the fields of management, economics and finance (MEF). It employs about 17 Professors and more than 120 staff members. By virtue of its location on a campus dominated by basic and engineering sciences, CDM is a management school on the crossroad between technology and society. CDM connects EPFL with business and society, stimulates entrepreneurship and innovation on campus, and prepares students for leadership in business, policy and academia. CDM’s focal areas are those domains of management, finance and policy that have close links to engineering, science and technology.
To strengthen our team, we are currently looking to recruit a
Deputy Director (80%) – W/M
The role of the post holder is to assist the CDM Director by providing administrative support and to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the College. He/she will act as a key liaison between CDM faculty and staff and EPFL’s Central Services. Main duties and responsibilities include :
Financial management of CDM’s budgetary funds and fundraising assistance
Preparation of information for the director to facilitate strategical decisions to be made efficiently
Contribution to strategic thoughts, vision and plans
Responsible for administrative processes in the College
Administrative including the preparation of general correspondence, reports, data, minutes and PowerPoint presentations
Human resource management
Representation of CDM in meetings organized by EPFL Central Services
Coordination of all matters related to the Odyssea building
Liaising with faculty and staff at all levels
Committee servicing: preparation and follow-up of meetings
Coordination of audits and preparation of corresponding documents.
Your profile :
PhD degree or equivalent
Expertise in one of CDM’s core disciplines
Experience in academic support
Ability to work under minimal supervision, set priorities and maintain confidentiality
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent knowledge of French and English (both written and spoken)
Working knowledge of the most common IT programs (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
