The Nestlé Product Technology Centre Beverage in Orbe is the leading Nestlé Coffee and Beverages Competence Centre that develops products and production processes for in-home and out-of-home consumption. The product category departments consists of units in Konolfingen, Marysville, Orbe and Singapore and provide new products and processes to all Nestlé markets worldwide. They are the owner of the science and technology roadmaps for its category.

We are looking for a R&D Coffee extraction expert that will manage strategic technology projects and contribute significantly to the attainment of business objectives through specialized expertise in extraction. He/She will discover and develop innovative and competitive technologies and/or optimize coffee extraction processes to meet Consumer and Business needs, consistent with Global, Zone and Market Business Plans
Key responsibilities
Identify & drive new opportunities in extraction technologies aligned with the business strategy.
Drive alignment of extraction Technologies with Macro Trends and opportunity areas defined by Strategic Business Unit.
Lead the discovery of innovative solutions via projects with clearly defined success criteria & milestones, including equipment design and modifications as needed.
Contribute to a forward-looking extraction focus area roadmap by leveraging scouting and external partnerships.
Ensure transferable outputs from science & technology projects into the I&R portfolio.
Ensure first time right implementation of innovative products and /or processes and contribute significantly to the business objectives.
Shape Coffee technology strategy within area of expertise aligned with overall coffee vision.
Ensure Product and Process Mastership & Quality by Design by sharing and applying of best practice throughout Nestle R&D and operations.
International experience in R&D / Operations with some experience and/or exposure in different R&D centers/missions/major projects/markets
MSc or PhD degree in related Engineering or Food Science plus 7-10 years minimum of related experience in soluble Coffee
Has followed Coffee training curriculum
Fluent in English both spoken and written; other language is a plus
