Main responsibilitiesProvides support for infrastructure services hardware, operating system, and software platforms. Server Configuration Changes as outlined in ticket management system. Ensure that the server uptime meets the defined Service Levels and ensure any requested changes are made with due diligence and clear roll back plans.

• Ensure the ongoing operations, availability and stability for infrastructure such as structured cabling, server hardware, network, and storage equipment.


• Install and decommission infrastructure components per guidelines and change ticket orders


• Incident handling, troubleshooting, and server hardware replacement/upgrades


• Off hour on call support (rotational basis)


• Creation, maintenance and provision of Data Room Facilities inventory system, documentation and reports


• Liaise with building facilities and various IT management teams relative to Data Room operations and project activity.


• Heavy lifting is necessary, as infrastructure components can weigh up to 25 kg.


• Perform other responsibilities and tasks as required or directed


• Maintain inventory of infrastructure stock equipment.

 
Analytical/Decision making responsibilities

• Ability to deal efficiently with complex, critical escalations and difficult situations under pressure, such as restoring services


• Strong team working skills but also able to work alone


• Consistent and analytical way of thinking


• Ability to participate in conference calls, explain and defend complicated concepts


• Ability to coordinate multitasking work performed by several individuals

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience


• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience


• Experience with various aspects of hosting center technology infrastructure management and operations preferred


• Fluent spoken and written English is required


• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills


• Experience of working in larger-scale data centers preferred


• Knowledge of Dell/HP hardware, EMC storage platform and Veritas NetBackup basics is preferred


• An overall understanding of facility technologies (HVAC, power distribution, generated back-up power, rack management & DC cable plant) and extensive experience in a high-availability environment


• Ability to work and team with a multitude of different people to balance demands


• Ability to work in virtual, cross-border teams


• Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change


• Microsoft Windows Server certification is not required but would be a plus.
