To support our Legal Division, FIFA is looking to recruit a flexible and well organised person with the ability to work in a cross-divisional team as a:
Legal Counsel (Event Legal)
Your duties


  • Drafting and further legal assistance in negotiation and interpretation of a broad range of event related agreements, including bidding and hosting agreements, hotel agreements, tour operator agreements, service provider agreements and agreements relating to the ticketing and hospitality operations for FIFA Events and activities

  • Assisting with the FIFA Rights Protection Programme in relation to FIFA Events

  • Providing general legal service support

  • Assisting with continuing development of FIFA Competitions Regulations or further guidelines and regulations of FIFA

Our requirements


  • Fully qualified to practice law (registered on the roll/admitted to the bar of the relevant jurisdiction and completed academic and practical training)

  • More than three years of event related legal practice PQE either in-house or in a reputable law firm, including first-hand experience in the events, accommodation/tourism or ticketing/hospitality industry

  • Fluent in English, with professional experience of working with and drafting legal documents in English, ideally good level of one of the other three FIFA languages (German, French or Spanish)

  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, problem solving and analytical skills

  • Willingness to learn, with flexible approach to work across a wide range of practice areas

  • Ability to transfer legal knowledge into practical solutions

  • High degree of personal initiative and interactive approach to commercial issues

  • Ability to handle a large workload, stress resilient personality, and awareness of deadlines

  • Service and solution oriented personality with keen perception of legal, event operations and policy related implications

  • A precise working style with a strong eye for detail

  • Open minded team player with affinity for various cultural sensibilities

  • Identification with FIFA’s objectives and values
