We offer: As a part of our wide team, you will be responsible for delivering new functional and technical changes in a distributed architecture, multithreaded application called MaRS(Market Risk System) with a focus on the ERC (Economic Risk Capital) business models, calculations and analytics. ERC is a global programme that delivers calculated results across a variety of models used for the calculation and analysis of economic risk. MaRS is a system primarily responsible for calculating the Value at Risk of the Bank and this architecture is used for calculating economic risk. MaRS development team implements new risk models, calculation types and functionalities. The main goal is to make sure that newly added and existing calculations are performed in a timely and reliable manner as well as providing SME (subject matter expert) for the production architecture. The system consists of many components running on 120+ production, test and disaster recovery Red Hat servers. Components are written in C++, SQL and Java languages. The MaRS team works across locations and covers about 60+ IT people globally dispersed across Asia and Europe. We are putting together a team in Switzerland to cover our newly implemented Swiss infrastructure and software as well as contribute to the global architecture. Deployment and Monitoring scripts are written in bash/python. Our team will also be significant as we develop out our reporting and analytics platform being the main source of data for it. As a C++ Software developer you work in our MaRS technical team. Your main responsibilities will be developing and refactoring existing components as well as designing, implementing and testing new components, together with the global and local teams. You cooperate with a team leader, providing transparency on the work progress and communicating with partners and management. As a senior C++ developer with good knowledge of development practices, you provide code reviews and guidelines for a junior developer.
