Virtualisation Expert - Linux and Windows


YOUR RESPONSIBILITY



  • Managing the datacentre environment of the company with the help of our IT service providers and IT Service Managers

  • Managing infrastructure projects - installation, development, maintenance, support and optimisation of key functional areas

  • Organising access management and functioning as central point of contact for DC related incidents

  • Maintaining the infrastructure equipment inventory and managing hardware/software lifecycle

  • Developing, maintaining and testing backup / disaster recovery plans

  • Training the internal organisation with respect to IT usage and communicating changes and other IT-related information

  • Managing Linux and Windows based systems (physical and virtual machines) – fulfil SW maintenance tasks

  • Participation in design and administration of containerization and their orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Co-managing a local Domain Controller (AD, DNS, DHCP) in a mix environment Apple – Windows

  • Managing virtualization platforms (VMWare, Hyper-V)


YOUR PROFILE



  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in IT application, incident and software configuration management based on ITIL or comparable standards

  • Demonstrable experience with IT administration (Linux and Windows, access and incident management) and proficiency in IT infrastructure projects

  • Good experience with IT networking (VPNs, LAN)

  • Flexibility and the ability to operate under stressful time sensitive situations

  • Ability to resolve problems without delay and/or to seek managerial intervention

  • Decent planning and organisational skills

  • Adequate communication skills (English professional, German is a plus)

  • Pro-active personality and self dependency in management of tasks

  • Affinity with MacOS/iOS environments

  • Striving for an efficient organisation of work, high customer satisfaction and achievement of project milestones
