The Swiss Transplant Cohort Study (STCS) is a nation-wide prospective multi-site cohort study funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
The primary objective of the STCS is to provide long-term high-quality data for clinicalresearch and outcome monitoring of solid organ recipients transplanted in Switzerland.
The position is located at the Data Center (DC) of the STCS at the University Hospital Basel. The candidate will closely collaborate with the STCS.

Senior Biostatistician/Data Scientist 80-100%
Your responsibilities:


  • As an independent biostatistician, you accompany clinical research projects through the entire process (planning – project data management - statistical analysis - publication).

  • Supervise a small team of statisticians

  • Acting as advisor in the Scientific Committee of the STCS and critically appraise STCS research proposals

  • You closely collaborate with and support clinical researchers in multicenter observational studies running in the STCS

  • You collaborate with and support the data manager team of the STCS Data Center.

Your qualifications:


  • MSc or diploma in (bio-)statistics, data science or related field. A PhD would be of advantage.

  • Professional experience of at least 5 years, ideally experience in clinical research.

  • Excellent programming skills in R and good knowledge of SAS

  • Experience in data management and project planning is desired

  • Fluency in English, Level C1

  • Very good communication skills, enjoy close team collaboration, open to discuss and implement new developments

  • Self-contained, motivated and interested to work in the academic environment

  • Flexible to collaborate in a complex project and to manage a variety of responsibilities in a rapidly developing multi-site cohort study
