The Secretariat of the WTO is looking to recruit an intern in the E-Learning Unit of the Institute for Training and Technical Coooperation Division.
General Functions
The E-Learning intern will work on the following tasks under the supervision of the Chief of the Unit: 1) develop modules and update training material for the online courses on trade-related matters and the WTO multilateral trade agreements; 2) develop interactive elements and animated training components for the online courses; 3) edit course material and ensure design and editorial consistency before publication; upload the e-learning material onto the Learning Management System (LMS).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Interns will have completed at least one year of their postgraduate studies (e.g., Master's degree) in education sciences, economics, international trade laws, or related topic, with proven experience in distance learning teaching.
Knowledge and skills:
Technical: - excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint); - familiarity with Articulate Storyline or similar e-learning software; - good knowledge of Adobe products (Photoshop, Premier Pro, etc) would be an asset; - experience with online animation tools such as Moovly, Powtoon, Prezi, or similar, would be an asset. Behavioural: - detail-oriented; - organized and deadline-oriented; - ability to work independently; - ability to work in an international and/or multi-cultural context and in a team environment.
Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English with a working knowledge of French and/or Spanish.
Additional Information:
Interns are recruited from among nationals of WTO Member states and a country or customs territory engaged in Accessions negotiations. The official languages of the WTO are English, French, and Spanish. Interns receive a daily allowance of CHF60 (including week-ends and official holidays falling within the selected period). Interns will have completed their undergraduate studies in the relevant discipline, and will have completed at least one year of their postgraduate studies. The minimum age for an intern shall be 21 years and the maximum age 30 years. The WTO may assist with visa applications where necessary. Travel expenses to and from Geneva cannot be paid by the WTO, and such travel is not covered by the Organization's insurance. Medical health insurance coverage is mandatory in Switzerland, and interns are responsible for organizing their own health insurance prior to commencing their internship at the WTO. Interns are subject to Swiss tax laws and Social Security contributions, and the WTO is not in a position to offer financial support to the intern in this regard.
