As a new addition to our Global Talent Acquisition Team, we are looking for an Associate Director Talent Acquisition (m/f) responsible for our MSD Sites in Switzerland, Austria, Nordics and Baltics (Full-time, indefinite).

As an Associate Director Talent Acquisition, you will be accountable for a cluster of countries where you will partner with cross divisional business / HR leaders to understand their needs and translate these into actionable talent acquisition strategies and deliverables. You will hire and manage a number of Talent Acquisition Advisors who will consult the business and support hiring of senior roles in the organization. You will also act as a project manager and change agent by supporting the transformation to ensure that your team are capable of senior consulting and managing stakeholder expectations.

 

The Global Talent Acquisition organization at MSD is transforming. Our vision is to move from a recruitment delivery function to a value-add HR function / Talent Acquisition CoE that not only delivers hires, but also consults the business to offer talent business intelligence, map the market for business-critical talent and develop a strong employer branding strategy (with focus on employee advocacy) and a university relations strategy (to attract our future talent). A key enabler for this shift is a significant investment in headcount, budget and technology and a new partnership with an RPO organization to outsource much of our transactional Talent Acquisition work.

The primary activities include but are not limited to:

  • Partner and consult with the business to understand business needs and develop, gain commitment and execute against talent strategies to deliver value

  • Develop and implement the country Talent Acquisition strategy

  • Understand the internal talent landscape (including Talent Reviews and Succession Planning)

  • Accountable for end to end recruiting in the respective business area / geography for business niche (senior) positions for all divisions in the markets

  • Be personally responsible for executive hires and contract negotiation for the region

  • Consult & influence selection decisions ensuring a diverse pipeline

  • Partner with Sourcing team to develop deep candidate pipelines; network proactively and have a passion for identifying and securing top talent externally

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition CoE leads to identify and deploy Employee Branding, Social Media and Diversity strategies, etc.

  • Lead regional/ global Talent Acquisition CoE continuous improvement projects

  • Drive Diversity initiatives with HRBPs, Managers and RPO (where needed)

  • Consult on and conduct assessment/selection approach when needed

  • Educate the business on hiring progress and competitive landscape utilizing internal and external metrics and data

  • Drive consistency in the hiring process and ensure a best in class hiring manager and candidate experience

  • Build strong relationships with business, HR CoEs, HRBPs and RPO

  • Represent Talent Acquisition in the local HR leadership team and towards senior management

  • Adhere to local Compliance requirements

  • Ability to deliver on or exceed stated KPIs

  • Lead the team of local talent acquisition advisors 


Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred

  • Minimum 7 - 8 years of end-to-end recruiting experience; a combination of search firm / RPO and corporate recruiting experience is strongly preferred

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience managing a Team

  • Experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)

  • Prior experience recruiting in a global matrix environment would be an advantage

  • Strong sourcing capability to direct our sourcing team to identify world class talent

  • Ability to consult and collaborate at all levels of the organization

  • Strong business acumen, external labour market and best practice knowledge

  • Excellent project management capabilities and a mindset of optimization

  • Good communication skills with strong influencing, negotiation and conflict management skills

  • Strategic thinking

  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment

  • Business fluency in English
