We're looking for a Technical Security Officer to join us in Zurich.

What you'll do


As part of the Security Operations Centre you will support the team with your sound technical security knowledge. Together we make sure that RBS Private Banking remains secure and protected. You are the technical expert and support the team in their daily security business and help to improve the existing security monitoring framework. We are looking for a dynamic self-contained security enthusiast who will support us in being the state of the art SOC. This is an opportunity to move a step forward in your IT security career.


Your responsibilities will include:



  • Analyse and assess security monitoring alerts and support security incident investigation

  • Maintain and improve the security monitoring framework (Splunk, Forcepoint DLP, Skybox, etc.) for anomaly detection and compliance auditing

  • Maintain and improve security monitoring framework documentation (use cases, monitoring concept, etc.)

  • Manage vulnerabilities and system configuration compliance (Qualys, Tenable Nessus, Skybox)

  • Conduct security risk assessments based on detected vulnerabilities and security risks

  • Support of business projects on technical security topics

  • Approve firewall change requests and verify the implementation of changes

  • Assess and approve security related service requests


The skills you'll need


We’re looking for someone with several years of IT engineering and IT security experience in a function as Security Engineer, Security Consultant, Security Analyst or Security Officer. A Bachelor degree in computer science with focus area on IT security is preferred. CISSP / CISM / Ethical Hacking certifications are a plus.
You’ll need to have more than one year of involvement in security operations tasks (e.g. security event analysis, vulnerability management, etc.), preferable in the financial industry. Involvement in vulnerability identification, assessment and remediation processes as well as experience in security monitoring with Splunk is an advantage.


We’ll also look to you to demonstrate:



  • Solid IT security know how with technologies like firewalls, proxies, WAF, VPN’s, encryption, etc.

  • Broad knowledge with IT security tools like Splunk, Tenable Nessus, McAfee Web/Mail gateways, FireEye, etc.

  • Sound IT knowledge in the areas of Operating Systems (LINUX, Windows), Data Bases (Oracle, MS SQL) and Networks (Cisco, Checkpoint)

  • Knowledge in common IT security standards and frameworks like ISO 27001, OWASP, NIST etc.

  • Solid English and German in writing and conversation

  • Ability to communicate with and guide technical staff

  • Ability to act on one’s own initiative and openness and ability to learn new things
