Your responsibilities

Human and social factors play a key role in privacy. For instance, individuals’ privacy is affected by the actions of their friends. Also, individuals are influenced by their own past experience and their friends when making privacy-related decisions. The benefit individuals obtain also contains a strong human and social component. This is particularly true and important for emerging technologies and services (e.g., quantified self).

The goal of this research project is to study the human and social aspects of utility and privacy with a special focus on emerging technologies and services, typically wearable and life-style trackers. To do so, the successful candidate may have to interact/collaborate with researchers from human-computer interaction and medicine, while focusing on the core computer science/information system aspects of utility and privacy.

The successful candidate is expected to enroll in the doctoral school in information systems at HEC Lausanne and will be supervised by Prof. Kévin Huguenin.
