This way, we deliver unique and holistic insights into drug safety and efficacy and enable informed decisions to bring the best drugs to patients.

You think “just contributing” is not enough? You would like to pave the way how we do drug safety assessment in future?

We are looking for an Associate within our immunopathology laboratory.

Core tasks and responsibilities:

  • Address fundamental scientific questions, be responsible for the design and execution of experimental work, and conduct data analysis.

  • Develop and run in vitro immune cell assays (cytokine release assays, purification and cultivation of PBMC, purification and differentiation of immune cell subsets, activation assays).

  • Will routinely perform multi-color flow cytometry experiments and multiplex cytokine analysis.

  • Characterize compounds in different cellular assays.

  • Share knowledge by active collaboration with other scientists and associates inside and outside the group.

  • Attend and present at internal meetings.

  • Keep accurate electronic records.

  • Contribute to the organization of the laboratory as assigned.

Who You Are:

  • You are a motivated research assistant with excellent scientific, communication and organizational skills, fully committed to team effort but able to work in an independent fashion.

  • For this position we expect the following qualifications:

  • Senior research associate in a life science discipline (e.g. cell biology, immunology).

  • 3+ years of experience in a research lab.

  • You are passionate for your work and have the ability to work to tight timelines.

  • Experience in in-vitro immune cell assays, including whole blood as well as PBMC isolation, cultivation and differentiation.

  • Good experience in multi-color flow cytometry, ideally experience in the independent design and troubleshooting of multi-color flow cytometry panels on BD instruments.

  • Prior experience in cytokine analysis (ELISA or multiplex methods).

  • Experience in compound screening in cell-based assays is required.

  • Experience in immunology, cancer biology and/or drug discovery is a plus.

  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry would be a plus.

  • Familiarity with standard lab equipment and data analysis software (FlowJo, Prism) is required.

  • Should be able to conduct and document original research in an independent fashion.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required.

Are you ready to apply? We want someone who thinks beyond the job offered - someone who knows that this position can be a rare springboard to many other opportunities at Roche.
