We currently have an opening for a Supplier Development Engineer, who will be responsible for qualifying existing and potential suppliers of direct materials and services. This will include a wide range of tasks aimed at maintaining the highest possible standards of quality throughout the supply chain. 2019-12-31Fachleute (> 2 Jahre Berufserfahrung)- Oversee full range of tasks associated with supplier development, including product monitoring at suppliers’ production plants and execution of on-site process audits
- Establish and maintain supplier procedures and practices based on global standards and ensure information relevant to supplier management is accessible with ABB tools
- Identify and address supply-side issues relating to quality standards, non-conformities, and services, in addition to supporting suppliers in their efforts to meet ABB requirements
- Review quality-specific documents prepared by suppliers, monitor key performance indicators, and assess 8D reports in support of continuous improvement process
- Ensure full utilization of local systems for reporting and monitoring in order to underpin best-practice approach
- Act as professional mentor and coordinator for vocational training within the assigned area, in addition to assisting with other key tasks
- Solid degree in Engineering or comparable qualifications
- Professional experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of process and product audits on supplier site
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary environment and focus on sustainable solutions
- Good command of German and English, both written and spoken
