Your Responsibilities:
The purpose of this job is to support the delivery of clinical development excellence in compliance with internal policies and external regulations by providing scientific/ medical expertise on specific category/ sub-category innovation project strategies.
This is a Pain GSK Consumer Healthcare (CH) category clinical research role whose key accountability is the design, execution and reporting of clinical studies conducted as part of project specific Clinical Development Plans relating to product research & development, regulatory submissions and/ or claims innovation initiatives. The role also has additional accountabilities and oversight of the following activities with the complexity of needing to collaborate with different functions across GSKCH in line with governance and business expectations.
This role will provide support to cross-functional global category/ sub-category teams on clinical research, new opportunities/ business development, product development and R&D strategies. The role will require significant interaction with a number of internal teams including but not limited to Category Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Statistics & Data Management as well as external group/ individuals such as investigators/ academic researchers, Clinical Research Organizations, Health Care Practitioners, and Health Care Organizations.
Your responsibilities are:
• Responsible clinical development expert leadership within category/ sub-category team(s) ensuring that the clinical research studies in Pain are aligned and support category innovation strategies approved by senior management.
• With oversight from Clinical Research/Development Principal Scientist be responsible for liaising with Category/sub-category Medical Affairs leads and other stakeholders to input and implement medical strategy and then translate to an associated clinical development/ claim support programs for consumer Pain GSK CH studies.
• Develop and execute research plans and studies using established scientific methods and protocols (e.g. experiential research, Pain health-related quality of life, in vivo/ in-vitro Pain clinical studies).
• Develop, adapt and validate test methods and procedures within the Pain GSK CH healthcare category.
• Contribute to the design, conduct and scientific merit of clinical studies evaluating the in vivo performance of Pain GSK CH products where clinical testing is required. Organize clinical testing in support of clinical department functions.
• Ensuring clinical trial design, results reporting and publication are undertaken in compliance with external e.g. GCP, internal Medical Governance and other internal policy requirements.
• In collaboration with Clinical Operations evaluate external test sites for study / test capabilities.
• Responsible for representing GSK at external scientific events including:
o Presentation of GSK clinical/ scientific data at conferences
o Develop high-quality relationships with key external parties e.g. Investigators, KEEs, HCOs, etc
• Responsible for conducting clinical due diligence for external opportunities
• Support regulatory activities (e.g. FDA positioning, 510k applications).
Why You?
Basic qualifications:
- MSc level degree in Dental, Medical or similar Clinical Science fields
- Three (3) year of clinical research background within the Pain therapeutic area is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong computer literacy including competent in Microsoft Office software
Preferred qualifications:
- A higher Degree and professional qualification, PhD, or MD highly preferred
- 4 years experience in the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry, preferably in a Pharmaceutical/ Consumer Healthcare / FMCH Business with International experience, including background in clinical research.
