We are now seeking to strengthen the Property Underwriting team with an experienced and technically oriented Underwriter to take responsibility for origination and maintenance of Complex Reinsurance Solutions in Continental European markets and together with the pricing experts ensure a consistent pricing approach across the Property portfolio.
Pricing and modelling of complex of European treaty reinsurance business with focus on continental Europe
Driving and supporting business origination activities and projects to generate new Complex Solutions business
Liaising with brokers and clients as needed on pricing/modelling related topics
Actively contributing to the P&C pricing and steering committee
Initiating and conducting post binding pricing reviews
Performing internal validations for underwriting and portfolio management
Developing and improving pricing methodologies and instructions
Participating in Group-wide pricing / Underwriting tool projects
Providing actuarial input for the risk management and reserving processes
Actuarial background and/or University degree in Mathematics/Statistics/Engineering or similar
At least 5 years of experience in the insurance/reinsurance sector
Work experience in statistics and probabilistic modelling
Advanced user of Excel, Access and SQL and knowledge of cat modelling tools (e.g. RMS, AIR, EQE WCE)
In-depth knowledge of statistics and probabilistic modelling and knowledge of financial market products desirable
Strong team player with good communication skills
Proactive and innovative in solving problems
Flexible, reliable and able to negotiate and structure reinsurance solutions independently with clients
Strong English language skills (additional languages such as German would be a plus)
