Associate Manager / Manager Materials Procurement

Job Summary  (Primary function)
Leads Procurement for Direct & Indirect Materials for Incyte Biosciences Technical Operations within GMP Manufacturing space. Drives functional expertise through an understanding of supply markets/trends, cost drivers and the impact to Incyte’s business model. Works closely with key stakeholders to develop effective sourcing strategies that enable improvements in quality, service, innovation and annual cost reductions. Develop supplier relationships that leverage supplier capabilities, improve supply continuity and reduce costs. Effectively prioritize work incorporating Operations, Quality and Business requirements. 


Essential Functions of the Job  (Key responsibilities)


•  Develop sourcing strategies for new and existing materials
•  Align sourcing strategy with internal stakeholders
•  Negotiate best prices, implement and negotiate supplier agreements
•  Identify cost savings opportunities and implement plan to realize
•  Identify and drive qualification of two sources for new raw materials
•  Develop risk mitigation plans for sole sourced items
•  Be the Sourcing POC for new product projects throughout process
•  Provide and meet timelines for new raw materials that support launch dates
•  Prepare regular status updates for reporting progress, issues, safety, quality etc.
•  Continually evaluate services offered by existing and prospective vendors
•  Develop and improve relationships with stakeholders
•  Understand and implement internal policies, procedures and specifications


Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
•  Life Sciences Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant experience from chemical, food, pharmaceutical or biotech industry
•  Must speak English and French
•  Ability to work in a fast paced – high regulated environment
•  Minimum of 5 years related experience  in procurement and sourcing or closely related experience in the business
•  Knowledge and experience of current purchasing best practices
•  Practical knowledge with cGMP's and understanding of biotech / pharma production processes is a plus
•  Must be able to travel
•  Team work oriented mindset
•  Contribute positively to a strong culture of business integrity and ethics
•  Act within compliance and legal requirements as well as within company guidelines
