With the nature of cyber security evolving so rapidly, Zurich Commercial Insurance seeks to recruit a Cyber Risk Engineering Global Practice Leader to support and enable Zurich’s capability with regards to Cyber insurance offering, identification of risks and delivering solutions for businesses.
As a Cyber Risk Engineering Global Practice Leader you will report to the Global Head of Risk Engineering and will work closely with the Underwriting teams, brokers and customers with responsibilities in the following areas:
Conducting or assigning and monitoring Risk Engineering assessment and service requests mainly for EMEA region but also for other regions ex-NA on request.
Developing and maintaining the Risk Engineering proposition and technical standard by being a member of the Global RE Tech Center for Cyber.
Responsible for the overall delivery and quality of services to customers and business partners in the area of responsibility.
Participating and providing leadership in projects related to service account coordination, service delivery, satisfaction and quality within Risk Engineering.
Global facilitator of communications and integration between Claims, Risk Engineering, Underwriting and Group Information Security.
Developing processes and reviews policies relevant to risk engineering in order to ensure they are in line with strategic business objectives.
Participating as lead risk engineering technical specialist in assigned areas or geographies to enable the implementation of policy, projects and change initiatives.
Planning and assigning appropriate resources (including vendors) in a geographic area to achieve planned utilization and to assist underwriters in order to meet agreed service delivery targets.
Controlling the technical quality and professional standards of the Risk Engineering function to deliver a consistently high-quality service to customers.
In conjunction with Marketing, Sales and Risk Engineering Customer Management functions, raising the profile of the Practice with target audiences and developing propositions and launch strategies for products and initiatives.
As a Cyber Risk Engineering Global Practice Leader your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Degree in Cybersecurity or related curriculum, or equivalent work experience
Relevant experience in insurance and the assessment of risk, based on what is required by Line of Business specific Risk Engineering competency standards
Strong demonstrable knowledge of Risk Engineering function and experience in the definition of standards, processes and procedures
Effective collaboration across a range of stakeholders within and external to the risk engineering function, including Underwriting, Claims and Zurich’s internal Information Security
Knowledge, insight, and understanding of cybersecurity concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business
Ability to deal with escalations and difficult situations
Effective communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
CISSP and/or CISM certifications preferred but not required
Familiarity with cybersecurity assessment frameworks such as the NIST Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity, ISO 27001, COBiT, etc.
Experience performing or leading cybersecurity assessments
Experience delivering cybersecurity services either as a consultant or on a corporate cybersecurity team
Direct or “specialist” experience in one of more of the following subject areas:
Motivation to self-educate and maintain awareness of current threats, hacker techniques and risk mitigation tactics
Familiarity with vendors of security products and services.
Ability to speak to non-technical audiences on cybersecurity assessment techniques and outcomes
Primary work location is Zürich. Some travel may be required from time to time depending on the nature and scope of the activity.
