We are a team of risk modellers in Group Risk Management, whose role is to develop and maintain Zurich’s capital and risk models, which are used for internal steering (Z-ECM) as well as regulatory reporting (SST, Solvency II).
The objective of this role is to further develop Zurich’s economic capital models and their application. Key metrics of the Zurich Group are derived from Z-ECM, which measures our capital strength and return on capital and is widely used for risk-based decision taking by Group and business units alike.

As a Working Student your main responsibilities will involve:
Support methodology development, perform parameterization of key elements of the capital and risk models, in particular:
Enhance risk type methodologies, analytical and reporting capabilities regarding the aggregation of different risk types
Review the approach to allocate required capital and risk tolerance levels to risk types and business units and run impact studies
Support the embedding of the enhanced capital and risk methodology framework and related capital metrics into business steering
Communicate and explain approaches and results to internal stakeholders
As a Working Student your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Student of quantitative finance, mathematics, actuarial science or related subjects
Relevant experience ideally in the area of economic capital and risk modelling or related subjects
Ability to present complicated subjects and to share knowledge within and across teams
Pragmatic problem solver that can cope with imperfect world
Primary work location is Zurich.
