Within Group Reinsurance Finance department, this temporary role is supporting the Controlling and Analysis team for managing a complex reinsurance environment. This includes the accounting and analysis on the portfolio as well timely delivery of the reporting formats according the group deadlines.
As a (Senior) Reinsurance Controller your main responsibilities will involve:
Supporting the management of the reinsurance portfolio, including accounting, analytics and reporting
Supporting Claims and Cash management tasks
Being involved in various Finance topics (Intercompany Differences, Currency Balance Sheet etc.)
Ensuring the quality and accuracy of the Income Statement and Balance Sheet for the reinsurance portfolio
Coordination of cedents’ reporting processes in order to adhere to Group Guidelines in respect of reinsurance finance quality assurance and controls (including association to audit tasks)
Providing reinsurance accounting and finance support to Business Units and various stakeholders
Supporting the IFRS 17 project
Assisting the Group Re Finance department in upcoming projects and ad hoc requests
As a (Senior) Reinsurance Controller your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Commercial or Bachelor degree (or equivalent) and ideally 2-5 years of reinsurance accounting / controlling experience
Thorough understanding of the (re-)insurance industry and corresponding accounting standards
Solid understanding of balance sheet and income statement
High standard of management reporting
Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office suite and reinsurance accounting system
Good team player attitude and proactive approach
Strong analytical skills and flair for numbers
Reliable and trustworthy individual with result oriented working style
Global thinking personality with holistic view
Strong communication skills in German and English– written and verbal (every further language an asset)
