We are recruiting recently qualified European Patent Attorneys to join our Intellectual Property department. Sounds interesting? The positions are particularly suited to patent attorneys with extensive experience in the field of biotechnology or chemistry.


 


The successful candidates will demonstrate the ability and willingness to:
 



  • work independently across a wide portfolio of activities ranging from drafting, prosecution, licensing, and contentious proceedings
     

  • Liase comfortably  with scientists and key stakeholders in adjacent business functions, and display confidence in advising and defending complex IP portfolios 
     

  • develop into a role in which you will become a trusted business advisor, counselling Science & Technology management teams, as well as business and commercial management teams, on matters relating to IP risks and opportunities
     

  • be based in our office in Kemptthal in the greater Zurich area, or in our office in Avignon

Your professional profile includes:
 



  • Recently qualified as a European Patent Attorney Advanced degree (preferably PhD) in Biotechnology, Biochemistry or Chemistry

  • Out-going personality, excellent interpersonal skills in order to relate and communicate credibly with individuals at all levels within the company

  • Ability to build relationships with scientists, legal and business/commercial teams

  • Excellent verbal/written skills, demonstrating the ability to articulate complex technical and legal issues in a concise and comprehensible manner

  • Business fluent in English; other language skills are an asset

  • Willingness to travel between Givaudan’s various key sites
