The Challenge:


Do you want to work in a committed and enthusiastic team with versatile and challenging activities?


For our NIC-RD-Chemistry team (Nutrition Innovation Center, Research and Development, Chemistry) in Kaiseraugst, we are looking for a motivated person for the role of Scientist, with a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry and applied catalysis


You will be responsible for developing new sustainable chemical processes for existing and new products of DSM.


 


The Position:



  • Develop new processes for existing and new products using modern synthetic methodologies and catalysis

  • Optimisation of chemical routes and processes.

  • Responsible for leading a laboratory team

  • Plan and execute research activities in assigned projects according to project plans

  • Responsible to achieve project milestones (incl. appropriate reporting and patenting) on time, in budget and with the appropriate scientific quality

  • Interdisciplinary work with experts in other technical areas (eg engineering, production, formulation)

  • Responsible to keep scientific overview in the area of expertise


 


The Ideal:



  • Chemist, PhD and Post-doc in organic synthesis with focus on applied catalysis

  • In-depth knowledge of modern organic synthesis, competent with a broad variety of organic synthesis methods and analytical techniques

  • Strong affinity to molecular modeling and Cheminformatics tools are an additional asset

  • Team-player personality with excellent communication skills

  • Fluent in English, a good level in German would be beneficial
