Roche is playing a leadership role within AA, particularly vis-à-vis country implementation program design, oncology service delivery models and capacity building through the CCan program and other company PPPs, and health financing and access to innovation under the World Bank project. Roche has an internal strategy for AA. Essential for the strategy is to empower our affiliates to utilize the partnerships under AA to drive external stakeholder engagement, build reputation, bring about policy change and increase patient access to oncology and rare diseases care at the country level. One key element of the Program is metrics developed by Boston University. So far, Roche has had only a retroactive engagement in the metrics program – reporting programs but without an active strategy on how we will play a leadership role within AA on metrics and evaluation and how we will integrate metrics into AA.

Training needs at the country level and how these can be brought forward through training programs delivered by Boston University

Define a clear plan with the sHSSL that can be delivered. The work will involve significant coordination and joint work with the Access Metrics Group and Group Communications around reporting to the Access to Medicines Index program
Develop a baseline understanding on how Roche has to date used the AA BU metrics framework for company programs, where are the gaps and the needs. This baseline work will be completed through interview with AA country teams, as well as global AA teams, discussion with teams that have previously led this work.
Understand the needs of metrics linked to Global Access and Global Corporate objectives through discussions with Access Metrics and Group Communications.
Help build a small internal advisory group on metrics integration and work with this advisory group to develop a plan, including implementation breakthroughs and next steps.
