ABOUT VIU

VIU is a young and innovative eyewear label from Switzerland. We have set out to revolutionize the market for designer eyewear with our direct-to-consumer business model. Cutting out middle men we are able to combine highest quality with fair prices. VIU glasses are designed in Zurich and handmade in Italy and Japan. We offer a unique customer experience in more than 40 flagship stores across Switzerland, Germany, Austria, UK & Scandinavia as well as our online store. Our main office locations are Zurich and Munich.

THE JOB

We are now looking for a Technology Architect in our headquarter in Zurich. Do you want to bring in your ideas and entrepreneurial drive to help shape the success story of a young and growing company? Then we would love to hear from you!

Start: immediate or by agreement

YOUR TASKS

• Understand the company vision and strategy and develop a technical vision and roadmap for the company in close collaboration with the CTO


• Guide the engineering team on architectural and technical topics


• Cultivate high employee engagement, performance and commitment to the product


• Understand company needs to define system specifications


• Develop a deep understanding of our technology stack


• Collaborate with the product team on developing new features and plan and execute sprints in the lean development methodology


• Plan and design the structure of a technology solution


• Evaluate and select appropriate software or hardware and suggest integration methods


• Ensure the implementation of agreed architecture and infrastructure

YOUR PROFILE

• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field


• Proven experience as a Technical Architect


• 5+ years of software development experience


• Excellent communication skills


• Proficiency in at least one of the following technologies: Python, Ruby, PHP, VueJS


• Experience building scalable products on Kubernetes


• Experience developing projects in a microservice architecture


• Prior experience working in the e-commerce


• Ability to apply agile software development approaches in a small, fast-moving company, delivering direct value in time (predictable and reliable) to our customers


• Demonstrated success in attracting, assessing, and hiring highly skilled and motivated candidates


• Business-fluent in English (orally and in writing). German is a plus


• Valid working permission for the EU or Switzerland
