Nanobody Service Facility (NSF)
The Nanobody Service Facility (NSF) (www.nsf.uzh.ch/en.html) is a recently established technology platform of the University of Zurich (www.researchers.uzh.ch/en/technologyplatforms.html), located at the Vetsuisse Faculty in the direct vicinity of Irchel Campus. The NSF provides the technology and know-how in production of single-domain antibody fragments, commonly known as nanobodies, to the research community. Due to increasing demand for our services, we offer the advertised position.
You will be assisting in generation of phage-displayed nanobody libraries. The work will include standard laboratory techniques such as RNA isolation, amplification and purification of DNA, cloning, preparation of media, and some special techniques involving selection and amplification of bacteriophages.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for the quality control, documentation and laboratory maintenance.

Ideally, you have an apprenticeship as laboratory technician with in-depth experience in cloning and related molecular biology techniques. Experience in phage display is a plus.
Good organizational skills, reliable and trustable processing of SOPs, attentive, dedicated and independent working attitude round up your profile.
Fluency in English, both oral and written is a must.

We offer a one year part-time position for a highly dedicated research technician. Further development of the facility would enable a possibility for increase of working appointment percentage and contract extension in the future. The NSF is situated in Parasitology Institute of the University of Zurich in a dynamic and diverse international research environment.
