Job Summary


This role is responsible for enabling gategroup to make sound capital expenditure and M&A decisions optimizing use of existing resources and capital while taking into consideration strategic objectives, priorities and opportunity costs.


In particular, this includes projects in the area of the assessment of day-to-day investment decisions for CAPEX, M&A and larger OPEX projects as well as recurring and ad-hoc projects related to strategy adjustments/alignment, post-merger integration etc., being able to operate the systems and tools required to efficiently and effectively complete the underlying processes.


The role will support the Global Head of M&A and Investments in coordinating the global CAPEX project, coordinate the regular Investment Committee meetings, ensure appropriate governance is observed and raise the bar on knowledge sharing, CAPEX policy and best practice.


 


 


Main Duties and Responsibilities:



  • The (Sr.) Financial Analyst M&A and Investments utilizes analytical, business, and leadership skills to functionally manage and drive multiple project initiatives, liaising with the business leaders, as required.

  • Support assessing CAPEX, M&A, larger OPEX and other projects, including but not limited to model creation and review, input parameter alignment, project comparisons, prioritizations, etc.

  • Support assessing, identifying, constructing and completing financial analyses on profitability and cash enhancing opportunities and strategies, proposed changes to internal processes, new business strategies, and other ad hoc requests, as assigned.

  • Coordinate the monthly Investment Committee process, assure adherence to timeline and proper submission of material. The role includes active participation in the Investment Committee, including presentation of requests, policy discussions, taking minutes, and actively pursue follow up tasks and update

  • Support larger projects – including development of project approach, scope and budget, work with project sponsors and partners to prepare delivery plans, track and report progress against agreed metrics

  • Autonomously coordinate M&A projects from the launch of the initial proposal to the integration review, ensuring best practice in market analyses, business case building, modeling and valuation, due diligence, preparation of negotiations and contracts, financing, presentations to executive management.

  • Drive, guide and lead large internal teams and stakeholder groups.


 


Qualifications:


Education: 



  • Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance with professional qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA)

  • Master’s degree in finance / Qualified accountant (e.g. CPA) an advantage


Work Experience:



  • Strong financial background with excellent analytical skills

  • Maximum 4 years of financial or business analysis in an international environment ideally with working experience in a Big-4 firm (or equivalent)



  • Understanding of accounting standards and compliance requirements



  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently without supervision

  • Ability to see 'big picture" strategic view as well as process details.


Technical Skills:



  • Sharp analytical mind with strong financial acumen able to understand as much the strategic rationale as the operational details of projects and to transform this rapidly into comprehensive and complex financial models.

  • Knowledge of all finance related skills, including accounting, tax and treasury.



  • Strong capability and knowledge of systems: Excel, SQL, Hyperion Enterprise, Hyperion Essbase, or other management information systems; strong drive to explore and exploit systems capabilities.



  • Working experience with Capital IQ, Bloomberg and various data and research websites.


 


Language / Communication Skills:



  • Able to communicate effectively with executive management, able to storyline and prepare compelling high-quality concise presentations.

  • Must be fluent in English, and at least one additional language, spoken and written with other languages an advantage and understanding of cultural differences.

  • Strong cognitive and communication skills required, including the ability to be proactive and assertive; excellent people skills with a result driven approach.
