The Swiss-based family owned company Bühler is a global, industrial solutions provider for processing foods and manufacturing advanced materials, contributing to food security and high energy efficiency.
Around 65% of the worldwide harvested grain is processed on Bühler mills, around 50% of all car taillamps or headlamps are getting metallized on Bühler machines. Every day, billions of people come into contact with Bühler technologies to cover their basic needs for foods, mobility, or communication.
Our Supply Chain Management team is seeking to hire a Global Category Manager with a wide range of responsibilities including, but not limited to:

Duties


  • Analyze the category markets on a global scale

  • Develop category strategies in accordance with the Global Procurement Strategy

  • Define the category supplier portfolio for the regions and local markets together with the Sales & Service organization

  • Negotiate corporate frame agreements (CFAs) and prices globally

  • Lead global Requests for Quotation (RFQ’s) and cost reduction projects

  • Drive cross-functional tasks and moderate between different stakeholders

  • Rate suppliers within the Supplier Relationship Management tool (SRM)

  • Manage and maintain all category related data

  • Support and lead claim management within the 8D-Process

Qualifications


  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Business Studies or a related field

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, category management (or equivalent)

  • Ideally with experience in the machinery industry

  • Technical and commercial knowledge covering multiple disciplines

  • Very good contract and negotiation skills as well as analytical and conceptual skills

  • Strong planning, organizing and priority-setting skills

  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a highly structured and organized manner within an interdisciplinary environment and a matrix organization

  • Excellent problem-solving and project management skills in an international environment

  • Very good written and oral communication skills in English and German and preferably a third language e.g. Spanish, Italian or Chinese

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools

  • Highly proactive, driven, motivated and flexible
