The position:


Roche is seeking to hire a Medical Director to contribute to Personalized Health Care (PHC) activities involving the development of new endpoints/outcomes and tools for the measurement and management of neuro-immunological indications including, but not limited to Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO). These tools will also support the late stage development of treatments in these therapeutic areas. These programs will include cross-indication platform projects, real-world data cohorts/registries, post-proof of concept trials including Phase III, Phase IIIb, and will involve collaborations with other development and medical Clinical Development teams.



  • The Medical Director will act as the clinical science lead on cross-functional teams responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, analysis, and reporting of studies. This will require close and frequent interactions with a number of other functions including operations, biometrics, safety, regulatory affairs, medical affairs, and a variety of business and commercial functions.

  • The Medical Director will act as the clinical science lead in the development programs of digital outcome measurements & neuroimaging tools. In conjunction with the regulatory lead, the development of briefing documents and participating in interactions with regulatory authorities, in support of developing new endpoints/outcomes and tools for the measurement and management of MS (or other neurological conditions) will also be in scope.

  • Additional responsibilities will involve interactions with the Roche Research and Early Development organizations, and assessment of in-licensing opportunities.

  • The position may also involve the management and supervision of Clinical Scientists as well as collaborative interactions with other medical directors on the team and within the Neuro-immunology Franchise.


Who you are:



  • You have an M.D. in neurology, preferably with specialty training in clinical neuro-immunology and a deep understanding of neuroimaging.

  • Experience in drug development within the biopharmaceutical industry or substantial experience in drug development trials in an academic setting are desired but not required.

  • You should have the desire to dedicatedly participate in a matrixed work environment within multi-disciplinary teams of internal clinical and commercial colleagues and have the ability to interact with external authorities and investigators.
