Responsibilities & Profile
Your contribution to KPMG
Responsibility for planning and organization of regulatory inspections performed by Swiss and foreign audit regulators
Responsibility for regular and ad hoc reporting to and registrations with various Swiss and foreign audit regulators
Tester of various risk management controls as part of internal compliance reviews, including evaluation of control effectiveness, documentation and reporting of findings as well as definition related measures and/or process improvements
Maintenance and update of various risk and quality management tools and databases for the purpose of communicating and monitoring compliance with different guidelines, policies and regulations and for the measurement and improvement of quality
Development, documentation and implementation of new processes and modification of existing processes due to internal and/or external regulatory requirements or for the purpose of compliance with regulation and/or quality improvement. Preparation of related policies and guidelines
Monitoring activities with regard to compliance with and the consistent application of internal and external guidelines
Participation in various department or firm-wide projects for the introduction of new systems, business processes and IT tools
Update of internal intranet for areas of responsibility
Close work and interaction with our seasoned professionals in the Group who will assist in developing your knowledge and expertise
This is what makes you successful
Preferably accounting degree (Swiss CA, US CPA, ACCA or equivalent) or alternatively graduated with another relevant degree (for example banking and finance, economics or law)
Experience in the area of auditor's independence of great advantage but not mandatory
Minimum 5 years of work experience in a large professional services firm or similar environment
Experience in responding to complex inquiries, performing research, analysing data and context, identifying potential issues, making decisions and documenting results/findings to support conclusions
Ability to apply subject matter specialization to train stakeholders regarding regulatory compliance, Independence policies, processes and information systems
Ability to build relationships, networks, and credibility with numerous stakeholders
Fluency in German and English is crucial for this role
