Mission


The Senior Manager Direct Marketing will develop and manage the strategies, activities and global agencies to support direct marketing endeavours to scale direct fan relationships for the IOC.


 


Main responsibilities



  • As a member of TMS Sr. Management Team, working in close collaboration with, and in support of, IOC Strategic Communications and Olympic Channel Services, deliver direct marketing campaigns and activities to scale direct relationships with Olympic fans. 

  • Manage the onboarding of global agency partners and resulting execution of direct marketing programs to achieve goals related to the IOC digital strategy and in support of the goals of the various parties within the Olympic Movement (NOCs, International Federations, OCOGs). 

  • Partner with agency analytics teams and OCS analytics team to inform real-time decision making, content development, and deliverables. Track KPIs and ensure that they are met. 

  • Support the development and implementation of CRM and retention activities to increase engagement with new and existing customers.

  • Ensure excellent relationships with our internal teams as well as with our external service providers

  • Stay abreast of latest direct marketing, analytics and data protocols and methodologies and adopt/adapt them to the evolving needs of the IOC.


 


Training and competences



  • University degree or equivalent in business, marketing, advertising or related field; Masters degree preferred or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 8 years of proven business experience in a commercial environment, preferably in consumer marketing, new media, business development, and or sponsorship setting

  • Minimum 8 years in a direct marketing executing global consumer direct marketing programs.

  • Broad knowledge and understanding of: media / audience measurement tools and protocols, digital analytics, tools and protocols, social analytics, tools and protocols.  

  • Proven success building scalable, broad reach acquisition partnerships & programs, as well as the supporting onboarding programs to maximize engagement

  • Fluency in email marketing best practices, including, but not limited to, spam, GDPR and data retention policies

  • Excellent communicator (verbal, written, visual) of complex information, results, trends and implications, adapted to all levels of management

  • External Agency management experience

  • English fluency both spoken and written, French an asset
