In the UPK Basel Clinic for Children and Adolescents, Research Department, is on 01.03.2019 or by appointment, we are looking for the following:Postdoctoral Researcher 50 % - 70 %Our main research objective is to investigate the underlying mechanism of emotion perception, empathy and emotion regulation in children and adolescents with mental disorders, mostly in disruptive behaviour disorders. In order to understand the interaction between psychosocial and biological risk factors regarding the development of deficient emotion processing, we employed behavioural, as well as neuroscientific methods (including neuroimaging, neurophysiology and endocrinology).Your responsibilities
Include first of all in depth analyses of data recently obtained through national and international research projects investigating the neural phenotype of conduct disorder (SNF and FP7: see femNAT.cd-eu). In addition, we are about to finalize a prospective, confirmatory, parallel-group, multi-centre, randomised controlled trial investigating the efficacy of a CBT skills training in girls with CD regarding behavioral and neural correlates of emotion regulation (see study protocol published in Trials: Kersten et al., 2016).
The main responsibility of the applicant will be behavioral, neuroimaging and neurophysiological data analysis, writing of scientific publications and involvement in planning and implementation of new research projects.
Furthermore, postdoctoral students are expected to supervise Master students and PhD candidates and participate within the research colloquium.
Requirements
a master degree in psychology or a similar relevant field
a doctoral degree or in the final months obtaining a degree
experience in the use of advanced statistical methods
a strong publication record
high motivation for further personal and academic qualifications
profound knowledge in MRI analysis techniques (fMRI/VBM/DTI or eye-tracking)
experience in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry and clinical research
you are a team player, resilient and flexible
proficient English and/or German skills
