The
Center for Development and Cooperation (NADEL) offers teaching programs for professionals in international cooperation and fosters dialogue between research and practice in addressing global and local development challenges. NADEL is led by the ETH professorship for development economics, which conducts research related to economic, technological and social aspects of development, poverty and inequality.

In order to intensify its outreach efforts, NADEL is seeking aCommunications specialist (50%)to support policy communication and promoting NADEL’s teaching programs. This position is a great opportunity if you are interested in global development issues, communication of scientific research to a wider audience, and, in particular, policy communication through a variety of channels, including policy briefs, public events, and traditional and social media.




You will be responsible for the overall planning, intensification and organization of our communication and outreach activities. This includes but is not limited to the planning and editing of policy briefs, media information, and further communications material; creating online content (website, newsletter, social media); supporting the publication process for NADEL output; planning, organizing and managing events; and helping to grow NADEL's policy network.


You have either a Master’s degree in a social science related to global development (e.g. development economics, political science, development studies, international relations) or a degree in a field related to communication (media, public relations, journalism). You have at least 2 years’ work experience in communications or public relations. You have a proven ability to handle a number of different tasks with tight deadlines. Excellent attention to detail is a must. Proficient German and English skills are required; French is an asset. Any knowledge in graphic design or video/visual production, operation of publishing software, or overseeing websites are a plus.
