As the Senior Procurement Business Partner for Facilities & Engineering, Europe and Site Basel, you are part of Global Procurement in the Region Europe organization. You will be accountable as the primary Procurement business partner for Facilities & Engineering, Europe and Site Basel and drive Procurement engagement, processes, and compliance for the Region Europe partner group.
Global Procurement (GP) is a main function that delivers value to Roche by using market knowledge, subject matter expertise and business insights in the procurement of goods and services and the management of Roche’s third party spend. Through collaboration with our external suppliers and internal business partners, GP helps bring innovative tests and medicines to patients.
The Region Europe Procurement team is responsible for translating business requirements into Procurement activities and provides employees – from facilities managers, to brand teams, to research scientists – with all day-to-day procurement services. Our team represents Global Procurement to our regional partners and is a key point of contact for employees to support their requirements for goods and services to sustain our business and operations. As a key link between partners and the wider procurement organization, we ensure regional input and needs are considered as Global Procurement dedicatedly develops strategies and solutions for our partners’ current and future needs.
Your responsibility:
As the Senior Procurement Business Partner for Facilities & Engineering, Europe and Site Basel, reporting to the Regional Head of Procurement, Europe, you are a member of the regional leadership team and a key representative of Procurement. You act as an entry point into Procurement for various local partners not already covered by other regional procurement roles or based on specific spend commodities. You are accountable for providing general business partnering activities including gathering and translating business needs, issues and priorities into procurement activities, and engaging the appropriate Procurement capabilities. In this position you will be responsible for providing the Category and Supplier Management teams with local input and validation to support global and regional Category and Supplier Strategy development, annual planning and target alignment, and supporting the realization of Category initiatives at the local level, including application of buying guides and content.
Based on your strong understanding of local business activities and deep knowledge of procurement, you work to establish business partnering relationships with key Facilities & Engineering regional and functional partners by delivering high levels of customer service and ensuring maximum possible Procurement impact and savings realization.
Through your leadership, communication, and influencing skills, you confirm partner requirements are routed to and addressed by the relevant regional or global procurement teams, ensuring Procurement is viewed as a beneficial partner by our partners. You act as the main point of partner concern for issues, topics, and certain partners. You will lead, direct, or facilitate major operational sourcing activities for various partners, ensuring a focus on budget, compliance, cycle-times, and high-quality fulfillment of customer service requirements and expectations.
Additionally, you will identify key local suppliers, monitor value creation targets, report local supplier performance against those targets and lead regular Business supported reviews. Implement development and innovation programs with key suppliers and identify and manage supplier risks.
This includes the support of the Category and Supplier Management team to manage regional, global, cross-divisional, or other strategic suppliers, by providing local input, data, and aligning on supplier messaging and interactions.

We are looking for someone with experience or demonstrated understanding in Category Management as well as understanding of the major spend categories. To be successful in this role you should be proficient in business systems (Ariba, Emptoris, SAP etc.) and processes for efficient contract documentation, templates and tools (e.g. eSourcing, eAuction) with familiarity of legal risks and issues.
Experience with enterprise systems and procure-to-pay tools such as Ariba, SAP or other purchase requisition technology is desired, as well as professional purchasing (e.g. CIPS, ISM) or Finance related licenses or certifications.
