We are currently searching for a candidate who can drive strategic planning and execution of the OBU Medical franchise accountabilities for the EU Markets (UK, France, Spain, Italy, Germany).  The role would include project oversight and management, budget management and oversight, strategic workforce planning and capability building.   This role would report directly to the Strategy & Operations Lead for OBU Medical, but working closely and aligned to the Head of EU Medical based in Paris, France.  The ideal candidate will proactively leverage opportunities and manage risks while driving and monitoring high quality delivery of medical tasks for the Oncology Business Unit markets in EU.


Accountabilities/responsibilities



  • Supports the OBU EU Medical Head to execute on the portfolio strategy from Global, including prioritization of project, programs, etc. and infrastructure / capability build

  • Supports OBU EU Medical Head and partners with EU OMALs for project oversight and budget management

  • In alignment with OBU EU Medical Head, responsible for the long-range strategic planning for the EU5

  • Accountable for implementation of medical standards within the EU5 as requested from Global

  • Partners with Finance for overall budget and resource planning across the EU5 and across medical capability functions at the country or regional level (e.g. MSL excellence, evidence generation, publications, etc.)

  • Run meetings, provide strategic input into meeting agendas, and manage action items from those meetings.

  • Supports the OBU EU Medical Head in development of the OMALs including but not limited to performance management, talent management and career development

  • Work with Global S&O to create processes that will streamline and simplify business processes. Specifically, assist in building infrastructure and capabilities for project and budget management within the EU

  • Lead strategic alignment and business planning cycle at the country level to facilitate effective medical plans across the EU, with a special focus on country specific iMAPs and evidence generation.

  • Be accountable to the OBU EU Medical Head for the development of cross functional tactical plans, based on the strategy, to support tollgate & other business decisions for the EU.


Preferred Requirements:



  • Graduate level degree in sciences or business degree

  • Previous experience in Global Medical Affairs or local/regional Medical Affairs preferred


Required experience:



  • Minimum of 3 years experience in pharmaceutical industry

  • Comprehensive understanding of the development and commercialisation of pharmaceutical products

  • Experience of successful influencing cross functionally, cross-culturally and cross-brands

  • Experience of effective working in a multi-cultural, matrixed environment

  • Experience working in a global setting, managing stakeholders within different time zones

  • Experience preparing and/or delivering presentations to executive leadership

  • Skilled in the area of change management including process development and implementation, people development, organizational effectiveness, and communication

  • Able to deliver high quality work outputs despite ambiguity or ever-changing environment
