Job description


With its Simply Safe strategic phase, Baloise Group has now spent two years laying the foundation for insurance services of the future. In order to drive forward this transformation and digitalisation with the necessary speed and consistency, the existing corporate divisions are to be supplemented as of May 2019 with the newly created Group IT division.


In your future role as Senior IT Financial Manager you will be jointly responsible with your team for ensuring the strategic focus of the project portfolio spanning multiple business units. You will also coordinate the Group-wide IT finances and ensure adequate transparency in this regard.


The following tasks also await you in your future role:



  • Ensuring alignment of the budget allocation to strategic objectives

  • Review of business cases/budget figures to support decision proposals for major investments

  • Definition, implementation and maintenance of IT financial processes 

  • Completion of a long-term plan for shared applications and infrastructures 

  • Annual planning for the Group’s IT budget 

  • Managing the VAT and tax processing, periodic financial statements, transfer prices

You are a reliable, organised and customer-oriented team player who is capable of finding creative ideas and solutions for different situations and problems and thereby integrating a wide range of interests.


As Senior IT Financial Manager, you should also possess the following:



  • University degree in information technology, financial management, business/economics or equivalent practical experience

  • Long-standing and extensive IT and/or financial experience: Specialisation in IT financial management 

  • Methods and best practices for management guidance and organisational development

  • Accurate method of working with close attention to detail, strong analytical and conceptual skills

  • Experience in larger companies and in cross-border environments

  • Business fluency in German and English
