Job description


The inclusion of IT and technology will in future be even more crucial for the business success of Baloise and is therefore of high strategic relevance. In order to do justice to this development, the Baloise Group is expanding its existing Group structure in the first quarter of 2019 with a newly created corporate division, Group IT. The Group IT Sourcing team will be an important component in this new corporate division. It is responsible for the development of a Group-wide IT sourcing strategy for maximising synergy effects and business value across the Group's entire IT.


In your role, you will define Group-wide preferred supplier lists for frequently used services, identify savings potentials across all units with regard to sourcing providers and review the IT supplier market based on sourcing strategy. You will be responsible for maintaining the procurement landscape in accordance with interest groups.

As Senior IT Sourcing Manager, you should also possess the following:



  • University bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in information technology, natural sciences or business/economics or equivalent practical experience

  • Long-standing and broad IT experience in the procurement and sourcing spectrum: service, supplier and sourcing management

  • Management and leadership experience in the design and standardisation of organisational structures, communication at management level and stakeholder management

  • Knowledge of business processes, standards, guidelines and insurance procedures

  • Experience in larger companies and in cross-border environments (matrix organisation)

  • Fluent German and English (further languages would be an asset)
