YOUR MISSION:
Management and development of a Strategic Business Unit offering the full range of MCI event solutions to clients and prospect clients.



  • Leveraging Organizational Priorities

  • Actively identifies new business opportunities and acts on them

  • Manages a team that may include Account Managers, Project Directors, Project Managers, Coordinators and Assistants

  • Drives team members’ professional development. Coaches, mentors and trains members to MCI and client standards of service, always maintaining a culture of excellence

  • Fosters teamwork and a constructive work environment

  • Provides team leadership that rewards entrepreneurial spirit and excellence in delivery


Strategic Planning & Execution



  • Develops the importance of meetings and events in the overall marketing mix

  • Creates and interprets effective analysis to support recommendations

  • Develops broad industry expertise

  • Gathers and analyses market intelligence

  • Manages time sheet and resource planning to guide management decisions and client contract review


Strategic Sales & Value Creation



  • Verifies and is responsible for proper reconciliation (operational, financial) of all projects handled by project teams

  • Achieves client targets within the context of the underlying opportunity

  • Maintains or improves account profitability

  • Is accountable for the overall portfolio budget and P&L

  • Balances client demands with participation in broader agency initiatives, identifying opportunities to cross-sell MCI product practices

  • Manages operating procedures; monitors and evaluates program/project effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement


(Customer) Relationship Management



  • Regular internal and client reporting on figures, budgets, cost savings, cash flow management, open invoices, cancellations, savings, resource planning, projects, account objectives, marketing & sales, client contact, opportunities

  • Maps client on an annual basis and develops related strategic approach

  • Works with clients to uncover business needs and objectives, craft appropriate strategies, and identifies/implements MCI event solutions to help achieve client goals

  • Understands clients' business and generates new ideas and strategies to enhance client performance

  • Builds trust, credibility, and client referrals

  • Develops multi-tiered agency-client relationships and ties

  • Is present at key client events

  • Takes part in key event debriefing sessions; monitors client satisfaction

  • Represents MCI and takes part at selected industry events, exhibitions, social events


 


YOUR PROFILE:



  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in the meetings industry in a live communication agency demonstrating continuous growth in roles and responsibilities is a must

  • Fluency in German and English is a must, additional languages strongly desired

  • Experience in planning, developing and delivering events and communication programs in the corporate and/or public sector in an international environment

  • A proven track record in attracting and winning new business

  • A proven track record of managing and motivating teams and delivering small- and large-scale projects in a service environment

  • Educated to degree level, or professional education in Event Management, Hotel Management, Tourism or another relevant domain

  • Good knowledge of computerized systems including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages and databases, preferably Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Leadership skills

  • Superb written and verbal communication

  • Ability to make decisions and to prioritise tasks, and to remain calm under stress

  • Problem solving skills

  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

  • Excellent inter-personal skills

  • Ability to motivate and coach people

  • Experience with management and operating of budgets / financial control
