A Day in the Life



Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.



This position, based at Medtronic’s EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) headquarters in Tolochenaz, Switzerland, provides finance business support to the EMEA Cardiac Rhythm & Heart Failure (CRHF) Business, supporting the EMEA CRHF Finance Director.
CRHF EMEA is a $1.5B Business and encompasses four sub-businesses, Implantables, AF Solutions, Diagnostics and Mechanical Circulatory Support. CRHF is part of the Cardiac & Vascular Group (CVG).



Together with the EMEA CRHF Finance Business Director you will lead all financial planning and forecasting processes for the CRHF businesses. You will provide data-driven insights into the internal and external environment, make recommendations to drive business performance, facilitate decision making and support setting and executing the proper strategies and targets.
You will also play an essential role in finance process improvements, working closely with the CRHF Business Finance Leads across the EMEA region and Finance Centers of Excellence in Heerlen and Prague.



You will have close working relationships with finance teams in the CRHF SBU in the US and the EMEA CRHF Sub-Business Leaders and their teams at the EMEA Head Quarters.



Key aspects of your role will be:



  • Interpreting, explaining and driving business performance on P&L and Free Cash Flow

  • Supporting and influencing key operational and strategic decisions, new business models and Go to Market Strategies

  • Presenting industry, competitor and economic insights

  • Generating scenario analyses to advise on business opportunities & risks

  • Support in arriving at robust Long Term & Short Term Plans and forecasts – 5 Year Strategic Plan, Annual Operating Plan, Rolling Forecast and Quarterly Forecast

  • Identify business risks and opportunities and support in managing these effectively

  • Maintain open communication and strong collaboration with business and finance leadership across EMEA & SBU

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


University degree in finance, business or accounting.
Minimum of 7-10 years of professional finance experience; Business Finance / Financial Planning & Analysis experience preferred
Master’s / MBA degree / CPA / CIMA / ACCA a definite plus
Advanced MS Excel Skills and knowledge of financial planning and reporting systems (Hyperion, Business Intelligence, Tableau etc.)
Fluent in both written and spoken English.

Experience in a multicultural, diverse environment; multinational or large audit firm is preferred
Willingness to Travel 10% of time
