On Board Diagnosis (OBD) Calibration Engineer

(f/m)

As an OBD Calibration Engineer you will be working in a team on the development of calibration to fulfil
legislative requirements for OBD, covering multiple global markets. The role will involve activity in all
areas of the calibration development cycle from target definition through to validation. The role will
principally involve engine based testing and will include some activity on vehicles. The candidate will be
responsible for developing a full specific OBD function dataset and delivering this for integration into the
complete ECU calibration.

Your tasks

• Calibration dataset development in line with guidelines for OBD regulations


• Testing OBD calibration on vehicle / engine / HIL if required for robustness


• Support in Pre and Official OBD Demonstration


• Dataset validation for all ambient conditions both in facility and in territory


• Planning and execution of a vehicle testing program


• Analysis of results and preparation of recommendations

Your profile

Essential:

• Bachelors/Masters in Mechanical/Automotive or related Engineering discipline


• Experience within the automotive industry


• Good knowledge of Combustion engine fundamentals


• Good working knowledge of EMS and related tools and software


• INCA, Concerto, database management, SW Documents


• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills


• Capable of working independently as well as part of large and small teams across location


• Very good English language skills, other languages (in particular German) would be an asset

Preferable:

• Previous experience of delivering OBD calibrations for global markets including EU or US


• Experience of coordinating and executing tests on vehicle and engine test-bed


• Knowledge and experience of OBD requirements for light duty trucks or medium duty vehicles


• Understanding of worldwide OBD legislation


• Familiarity with Hil Rig and model-based development activities


• Understanding of worldwide vehicle emissions legislation


• Knowledge and experience of aftertreatment systems


• Programming skills in C#, knowledge of SQL and Database Systems
